DATA SERVICES As the central component of so many Kaleidoscope applications, it’s no surprise that we take Cablesource, our proprietary database of more than 11,000 cable system territories, very seriously. Here’s what Cablesource contains, and the breadth of data that is managed and updated on an ongoing basis: • Headend – physical location that feeds programming into surrounding households • System – operational group of headends • MSO – corporation that owns systems / headends • Contacts – executives and staff linked to headend, system and MSO levels, complete with address, fax, phone and e-mail information • Geographic Criteria – ZIP codes served, DMA, state, counties, and community for every cable entity, along with principal community per headend or system • Additional industry information, like system IDs, per network carriage and channel number data Most of our applications make use of Cablesource data in some way. Some additional, specific uses for Cablesource are: • “Get the channel” application. These applications are customized to your site, but dip into the Cablesource database to present the user with channel number and/or steps to take to request your network. • Custom Cablesource application. Integrate your data with ours, then use a custom, secure, web-based application to access our data and yours, only updated. • Pressure market add or drop campaigns. Let us target a specific system territory to generate consumer leads to get your network added or kept as part of the channel lineup. • Satellite move campaigns. Alert technical contacts and general managers if their satellite feed for your network will be changing. • Receiver updates. Locate receivers at headends that are actively being used to serve your network’s signal into households, and identify those no longer in use due to headend collapse or previous upgrades. • Cable match services for past campaigns or in-house data sources. • Demographic analysis by subscription area and provider. • Custom data extract for any number of purposes.
